Location Scouting 2

School Shots

These are the shots of our school common room. This is the only place within the school that we wished to use, as we wanted our trailer to look realistic and we didnt want it to look rough and unprofessional. So therefore we didn't concentrate much on doing fiming in school, we tried to avoid it as much as possible.

Park Shots

These are some of the establishing shots of the isoated park we selected to use in our teaser trailer. We chose this park as it was quiet, small and not used often. As you can see by the pictures it is a nice small park and when night time approaches it looks like the kind of place you would find creepy, unforunately due to camera quality we could not take shots in the dark.

Half: The Final Cut

This is the final cut for our trailer Half, we edited the trailer a total of 4 times. In the last edit we had noticed we'd made some spelling mistakes that needed to be corrected, so we corrected them and the mirror shot wireframe had to adjust it in order to get the effect we wanted, but in editing we noticed we needed a significant visible line in order for this shot to be perfect, so we had to re-shoot to be able to edit it correctly. After we'd completed these corrections and editing, we showed Mr Morris to get his final approval and then uploaded the final cut to YouTube. Here it is.....

Final Magazine Cover

We took a lot of thought into make our magazine cover and it took more time than we would have expected to complete it in. We edited the magazine a total of 21 times before finally having this one as the final copy as we thought there was further developments we could make and room for improvement.
We looked at different magazine covers which were the same as ours to gather the key conventions and also the structure and layout so we would be able to give our cover a backbone to start on. We looked at Empire, Total Film and Premiere mainly.

The title of our magazine was L.C.A which was abbreviated for Lights, Camera, Action. This I found was a very catchy title name and it was to draw the readers in, it also gives you an insight to what the magazine is going to be about, films, behind the scenes gossip and actors/actresses and etc.
The structure of our magazine cover was very similar 'Total Film' magazine which was one of the magazines we used to research into conventional elements of magazine covers. As you can see the main character on the magazine cover is looking directly at the audience so therefore we took a picture which was later edited of our main character looking directly at the audience which made the magazine cover really effective as initially we were going to use a screen shot of a scene from the trailer. We were very glad that we did further research into this as all of the  magazine covers we used for research had some sort of figures looking directly at the audience.

We did about 20 different copies  of our magazine front page, before we finally decided on which one to go with. I think it shows the amount of ideas that we had, as we were constantly changing and editing what we had. We were constantly looking at different examples of magazines on the internet, and we kept finding new styles and new aspects that we thought would look good on our cover and give it an professional effect. I also think this made us feel more professional and as if we were working as professionals because we kept going back to change every minor detail because we wanted to edit with precision, we wanted it to be perfect.
